Here's what we think about the Bali 4.2:
The Bali 4.2 is a modern catamaran designed for comfort and functionality, making it a strong contender for charter crews. The Owner's Version (OW) of the Bali 4.2 comes with a three-cabin layout, which offers more spacious accommodations for smaller groups or families. The standout feature of this model, like other Balis, is the signature open-plan living area, with a retractable "garage door" that connects the saloon and cockpit, creating a large, seamless indoor-outdoor space. The saloon has direct access to the forward cockpit as well, making it convenient for socializing and dining.
The owner’s suite in the three-cabin version is located on the port side, providing a private and comfortable area with its own head and plenty of storage. The boat is designed to maximize living space, but at the cost of some sailing performance. Like many Bali models, it isn’t the most agile or performance-oriented catamaran, particularly in lighter winds. The lack of a traditional trampoline is also a trade-off, with a solid foredeck taking its place for more lounging space. Overall, the Bali 4.2 OW is an excellent choice for those looking for comfort and practicality, but crews prioritizing performance might want to consider alternatives.
