Where is Hurepiti Bay Located?
Anchoring and Accessing Hurepiti Bay
- Mooring in Hurepiti Bay: Do not anchor directly in the bay as the ground is covered by old coral, which can block the chain and anchor. Instead, use one of the mooring buoys provided by Vanilla Tours and Sophie Boutique. It’s advisable to call Alain Plantier for assistance and to secure a mooring buoy (VHF 9, Tel: 40 65 62 46).
- Navigational Caution: The bay has numerous coral shoals along the northern side. Favor the south side, which is clear of danger, and follow the small wharves closely to avoid the northern coral patches.
