Yacht Information
Description
The Lagoon 50 catamaran boasts a spacious flybridge with a helm station. This area not only provides a separate recreational space but also offers storage space behind it. The helm seat at the station is large enough to accommodate up to 4 people, including the helmsperson. The station is made comfortable with triple sun beds and back and knee rests behind the helm seat. While the helm offers good visibility for navigation, the view directly behind the steering wheel may be obstructed by the mast.
The helm station features an optimally angled dashboard equipped with a B&G multifunction display and autopilot, among other instruments. The lines and self-tacking jib sheets are managed with three Harken winches. Additionally, there are three integrated sheet bins to handle the sheets, a halyard, and an electric drum to manage the continuous traveler sheet.
In the three-cabin version, the Lagoon 50 catamaran's aft cabin features a double bed with lateral access, a drawer underneath, two bedside tables, and a shelf. The deck hatch above the bed allows for ventilation and natural light.
The salon of the Lagoon 50 is a comfortable living space that seamlessly connects with the cockpit. It provides ample room for entertaining guests or hosting a party. Covered with a hard-top Bimini, the saloon features a U-shaped sofa with a dining table and a fully-equipped chart table. The characteristic Lagoon vertical windows surround the saloon, offering a panoramic view while maintaining a comfortable temperature inside.
The Lagoon 50 also includes a dedicated navigation station equipped with a B&G multifunction display, a VHF radio, and autopilot, all located on a leather-covered navigation desk.
The L-shaped galley is accessed through a sliding door and features a four-burner gas stove, a gas oven, a fully integrated sink with storage cupboards, shelves, drawers, and lockers. The galley is equipped with a 190-liter stainless steel drawer fridge. Positioned between the living space and the cockpit, the galley provides ample space for multiple people to prepare food without getting in each other's way. It also offers sufficient storage for food and drinks. A window opens from the galley into the forward cockpit, allowing for easy serving of drinks and other items.

Here's what we think about the Lagoon 50 :
While the Lagoon 50 offers additional space and up to six cabins compared to the Lagoon 46, I personally don't think it's a significant enough upgrade unless you specifically need those extra cabins. The design shares much of the DNA of the Lagoon 46, including spacious social areas and comfortable living spaces, but the difference in performance is minimal.
The Lagoon 50 does feature a larger flybridge and an expansive saloon with excellent visibility, but the newer Lagoon 51 has truly refined these elements, making it a better upgrade over the older Lagoon 50. For larger crews or those wanting more cabin flexibility, the Lagoon 50 might be worth considering, but for those happy with the layout and size of the Lagoon 46, the jump may not be necessary.
