Emysa Description and Charter Summary Information

NOTE: EMYSA WILL OPERATE AS A POWER CATAMARAN APRIL 2026- OCTOBER 2026.

Welcome to EMYSA (pronounced EM-SA) A 58-foot sailing catamaran where modern design meets barefoot luxury Built in 2019 this award-winning yacht, EMYSA proudly took home First Place for Best in Show (51–60 ft.) at the 2023 VIPCA Charter Yacht Show — a recognition that reflects her impeccable style, amenities, and guest experience.

EMYSA offers two spacious queen cabins, and a luxurious master suite complete with its own private coffee station. Every detail speaks to comfort and sophistication: panoramic views through the salon, a breezy flybridge lounge perfect for champagne sunsets, and a foredeck that invites both sun-soaked afternoons and starlit evenings.

Beyond her striking design, EMYSA is defined by her exceptional amenities. She offers Starlink connectivity, solar panels, air conditioning, water and ice makers, a curated bar stocked to guest preferences, and eco-friendly toiletries. Her culinary pleasures are legendary: from a fully customizable menu and specialty pizza oven.

Adventure flows as easily as relaxation. Guests can explore with snorkeling gear, underwater scooters, clear kayaks, paddleboards, wakeboards, and fishing gear — or unwind on our floating dock or chairs with pool noodles drifting in turquoise seas. For evenings aboard, EMYSA delights with a Bluetooth sound system, salon television, board and card games, or the strum of a guitar.

Our take: Emysa

Emysa is a Leopard 58 that stands out for offering generous exterior living spaces and a comfortable three-cabin layout. The flybridge is one of her strongest features, with plenty of room to relax and a hardtop that provides good shade, while the spacious cockpit and partially shaded front deck give guests several different areas to enjoy throughout the day.

Her accommodation includes one master suite and two queen cabins, creating a well-balanced layout with a more spacious primary cabin.

Captain Alan

Alan’s love for the water began early, during family sailing vacations on Cape Cod and Lake Huron’s North Channel—home to some of the finest freshwater sailing in the world. Those formative experiences sparked a lifelong connection to the sea and set the course for the life he now leads.

Before trading city life for island time, Alan spent over 20 years in Canada’s hospitality scene in Ottawa, mastering his craft in top restaurants and nightlife venues. From busboy to bartender, restaurant manager to nightclub owner in Ottawa’s vibrant Market district, he developed a deep understanding of exceptional service, attention to detail, and the art of a perfectly crafted cocktail—skills that now elevate every moment onboard.

Now in his 20th season chartering in the Virgin Islands, Alan brings a wealth of experience as both an owner-operator and private charter captain. With years of sailing these waters, he is known for his calm, confident presence and his unwavering commitment to guest comfort and safety. His intimate knowledge of the BVI allows him to effortlessly curate days filled with hidden anchorages, turquoise bays, and just the right amount of adventure.

As a certified Dive Instructor, Alan offers Discover Scuba Diving (DSD) experience as well as full scuba instruction for those ready to go deeper. He leads all in-water activities—from guided dives and snorkeling to water sports and sea scooter exploration.

Randeen – Chef / Mate

Originally from the Canadian prairies—where winter is more of a lifestyle than a season—Randeen made the inspired decision to swap snow boots for sandy toes and sunshine. Leaving behind a successful corporate career, she followed her passion for hospitality, food, and adventure to the Caribbean.

With a background in corporate event planning and customer service, Randeen brings a refined sense of organization, creativity, and attentiveness to every charter. She has a natural talent for anticipating guests’ needs and creating an experience that feels both effortless and thoughtfully curated.

In the galley, Randeen blends creativity with Caribbean flair, crafting fresh, vibrant dishes using local ingredients and global inspiration. Her menus are as flexible as they are flavorful, with a keen ability to cater to dietary preferences while still delivering beautifully presented, satisfying cuisine.

A natural social host with a quick wit and easy charm, she effortlessly sets the tone onboard—whether it’s a relaxed afternoon, sunset cocktails, or a lively evening under the stars. She leads everything from scenic island hikes and hidden beach escapes to expertly curated beach bar outings and lighthearted game nights, always with a touch of style and a sense of humor that keeps guests smiling.

Ritz (the Admiral)

Ritz is island born and raised! He, along with his brothers and sisters was rescued from the Ritz Carlton's Back Beach in St Thomas (Vessup Beach). He spent his first few years living on land with beloved Charter Broker Verna Rauan before joining our family. The day we picked Ritz up we headed out on charter and he has been our boat dog ever since. Ritz's favorite pastimes are napping, enjoying treats and late afternoon walk on the beach. He is a hypoallergenic, quiet dog who rarely makes a peep.

January 2025

As the trip planner for the soggy six group, I can truly say that we hit the jackpot! The best crew, beautiful boat and the most amazing backdrop made for an adventure of a lifetime. You were both so talented as captain & crew - the sailing was amazing & the food to die for. I'll be dreaming about our experiences! for years to come! Thank you both for a fabulous week on EMYSA! We hope to sail the seas with you again!

-Sue & Ed

We can truly say this was in our top 5 vacations & we can’t name the others (ha)! You exceeded our expectations! The island locations, the colours, the food, the company! keep doing what you're doing! You two are very hardworking, knowledgeable and gracious! Thank you so much! And keep that sense of adventure!

-Dave and Cindy

We know the soggy six would have a phenomenal trip together, but we did not anticipate the two of you and how you would make our trip truly EPIC! Caleb, you took such good care of us! The boat was spotless (and we did our best to keep it that way!), the curated adventures were so beautiful, and a new experience every day! The vistas were unparalleled. And then there was the food! Deeks, you managed to blow us away with your amazing culinary skills. Every single meal was better than the prior. You raised the seemingly unraisable bar every single day. The two of you never made us feel like an inconvenience or in your way. You were beyond professional and your interactions were so sweet. You are great partners and you made our trip infinitely more special. Thank you for our incredibly week aboard Emysa. We cannot wait to sail with you again!
