Greig grew up in Johannesburg, South Africa, on a farm in the mountains far north of the city, alongside his two older brothers. He spent most of his teenage years as a professional BMX rider, while also exploring Southern Africa on motocross bikes. Drawn to adrenaline from a young age, he immersed himself in virtually every extreme sport he could find.
Before entering yachting, Greig worked as a toolmaker, managed his father’s automotive engineering firm, and spent time in real estate. He began his yachting career in 2015 and quickly committed himself to climbing the ranks, dedicating all his spare time to courses and licensing. This focus earned him his first position as a Captain in 2019.
He has cruised the Mediterranean extensively, the Bahamas, the Caribbean, and along the U.S. East Coast, reaching as far north as Bar Harbor, Maine. He has worked on yachts such as M/Y KANOLA, M/Y KATHERINE, M/Y SEALYON, M/Y LAYZ Z, M/Y ISLAND COWBOY, M/Y VICTORIOUS, M/Y COUNTLESS and currently at the helm of M/Y SWEET ESCAPE with a great Crew.
His number one mission is to create a truly magical escape from reality, whether that means total relaxation in the world’s most beautiful locations or an unforgettable party tailored entirely to his clients’ preferences. Whatever the style, his goal is always the same - to create memories that last a lifetime.
In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife, exploring new places, and teaching their two children how to play the guitar, ride motocross, and stay curious about the world.
He likes to spend his free time with his wife and teaching their two kids how to play the guitar, motocross and inspiring a sense of curiosity and adventure.

Born in a small town north of Windhoek, Namibia, he spent part of his childhood in the Algarve before returning to Namibia at age 10. From a young age, he was inspired by his father and uncles, destined to become a petrolhead and stance enthusiast. Building cars, tinkering with computers, and playing music were part of his everyday life.
Today, he is recognized as one of Namibia’s pioneering Motorsport and Stance innovators, and is known by some as a sound “Sangoma” Guru. His work ranges from award-winning show car builds to receiving the RFI Artist of the Year award, reflecting his creativity and technical expertise. Beyond his own achievements, he is passionate about empowering youth, inspiring them to pursue a better future, and helping them stay away from negative elements that society brings.

Growing up close to the ocean, Chase developed a natural love for fishing, boating, and outdoor adventure. This trip was the dream-vacation of a lifetime, planned to celebrate W’s birthday and W & C’s 60th Wedding Anniversary. Our our entire immediate family of ten, nine were able to come with us and spend this dream-week onboard “Sweet Escape”.
It was an astounding week of togetherness, family fun, fabulous meals, beautiful sights and loving attention from the outstanding crew.
A finer group of people could not be found anywhere. They anticipated our every wish and need, minute-by-minute, hour-by-hour, day-by-day.
Thank you.
***August 20 to 28, 2018***
'Dear Captain Paul,What an incredible week we had on Sweet Escape, in large part because of you and your wonderful crew.
WOW!! I don’t know where to begin to thank you for an experience our family will talk about for years to come. As you know from our conversations our family is fortunate to have traveled a lot. We picked Croatia because none of the 9 of us had been there. That was a good start because it is wonderful.
Our next good fortune was to work with Mary and her organization. Then we really hit the jackpot because she recommended Sweet Escape.
What an experience. Our family didn’t really want to do any touring of cathedrals or castles or any of that stuff. They just wanted to stay on board, read, talk and do water activities. And did they ever do the water toy program. Your crew went beyond the call of duty to be patient with us learning how to ride all the toys. We loved it.
The food was outstanding. All the meals were a delight and the service of the wait staff was over the top. My wife and daughter (who is an interior designer) took a picture of every table setting because they could have all been in a magazine. We loved the food so much but the portions were perfect and we never felt over fed nor did we all gain a lot of weight. Congratulations for that. Very well done.
Now, about you Capt. Paul. Real pressure is having a guy like me on board who is Commendore of his yacht club with his own boat, sitting in the wheel house a lot watching all that you are doing. You were terrific. Thank you for running a safe, tight, well supervised boat. It is noticed and appreciated.
X also sends her most sincere thanks and gratitude for taking such good care of our family.
Bottom line. This was an unforgettable experience that we will not soon forget.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU
***July 2018***
What an amazing trip! We worked and planned this adventure through Croatia for a year, and it surely paid off! The fabulous crew of Motoryacht Sweet Escape took absolute care of all our needs before we even knew what we needed ourselves. They could not have been more attentive! We will all miss them! The yacht was a gem, we never lacked for an activity! The food was fantastic each day. Our family thanks you all, each and every one, for the most wonderful trip of a lifetime. We hope to see you all again in the near future. XO.***June 2018***
Dear Captain Paul & Crew,This last week has truly been a blessing and a lifelong memory for our family. While Sweet Escape is phenomenal and our natural surroundings incredibly picturesque, it has been your care and service to our family that has made this vacation!
We cannot remember another holiday opportunity when we have all felt so cared for. From the moment we woke up in the mornings until our heads hit the pillows each night—one of you was always looking out for us. Thank you so much for truly caring not only for our comfort but also for our safety. We will never forget all of the wonderful meals, our squeaky clean cabins, the hours & hours & hours on the “toys”, our trips into quaint towns, champagne conversations, safe and professional travel and most of all, your company and friendship. Thank you again for caring for us. We will always cherish this week!
Sincerely,
***March 25 to April 1, 2018***
Dear Sweet Escape,It was the first time in Bahamas for all the family, and we all agree to say that it is stunning! So beautiful!
We had a superb time on Sweet Escape during our one week stay.
Thank you so much Captain and all your crew. Everyone is very professional, nice. It has been a pure pleasure to stay onboard and we hope to come back in the future.
We wish Sweet Escape and her crew all the best! We will miss you!

The Sweet Escape is a luxury vacation on the water. The yacht is spacious and full of any amenity you can think of.What made this trip, though, was the staff aboard the ship. They literally catered to your every need and made us all feel comfortable. They never got tired of our questions and stayed crazy busy behind the scenes all day and night. The owner of the yacht hit a home run with this crew!
When we charter a yacht again we will make sure to be aboard the Sweet Escape and hope the same staff is there! Thank you Paul, Simon, Bernie, Craig, Hendrix, Carly and William.
You guys are all top notch!
