Touch the Sky is an extraordinary example of a Leopard 58 that offers the best in large, open decks and spaces for lounging, including a comfortable indoor salon, a breeze-filled fly-bridge with seating for 10, and the fun forward netted space to experience sailing firsthand. The split-level style interior offers five guest staterooms, two of which are on the main deck level and include a semi-private walk out "patio." All guest staterooms include en-suite bathrooms, air conditioning, and everything you would need to create sailing memories with families and friends. Sail crystal clear blue waters, snorkel coral reefs, explore uninhabited islands, or just relax to another beautiful sunset.

In 1989, I assisted my parents in their preparation for a transatlantic crossing from California to Scotland. Though I did
not get to make that voyage, it did ignite my passion for sailing and the ocean. I grew up in Michigan around the water
and it always fascinated me. So, when a friend called one January asking, “Can you turn wrenches on a sailboat? There
was no decision to be made and off I went. I began my career as an engineer on a crew of 5 and eventually earned my
200GRT/500 GT USCG license. Since then, I have worked on vessels of varying sizes; 65’ to 245’. From scuba dive
liveaboards to Alaskan Summer adventure boats.
During these past 25 years of being in this industry, there have been so many wonderful adventures. I have participated
in organized shark feeds, visited many Islands (Bahamas, Turks and Caicos, Puerto Rico, USVI’s, and BVI’s), explored
uninhabited Islands, crossed the Gulf Stream countless times, and even wrote a #1 Amazon scuba travel guide. Bahamas

I find enjoyment sharing my passion and knowledge for the ocean and navigation. When on land, I enjoy entering in 5k
races and have also participated in a few marathons. I love to fish when on charter and have recently gotten into surfing.
If there is one thing you can be certain of, I will do everything within the realm of weather and safety to make sure your
vacation is the most memorable one ever. It would be my pleasure to be your Captain.

It was a typical Michigan Winter in the Upper Peninsula (iykyk), January 2011. I was packing in the middle of a blizzard
and was headed to the US Virgin Islands. It would be my first time traveling to The Caribbean. I knew nothing about
sailing, and even less about the ocean and scuba diving. Growing up around the Great Lakes I had great respect for the
water, but no Ocean experience. I had agreed to a job on a 104’ Custom Sailing Vessel that traveled between the Virgin
Islands and the Bahamas, diving everywhere in between (Puerto Rico, Turks and Caicos, BVI). Immediately I was in heaven
and twelve years later here I am.
During that time, I soaked up everything I could about sailing, scuba diving, and the ocean world below us. I had found
the lifestyle that suited me during these years, but truly found my home in the Galley. From Florida and The Caribbean all
the way to Alaska I have enjoyed feeding and entertaining guests from all over the world. Using local ingredients along
the way andaAlways taking in the latest food and drink trends. My Fiancé and Captain would call me a “foodie,” but I just
love and get excited about food.
Being a part of guests’ underwater experiences has been a great pleasure of my life. Teaching them about the world
below is another true passion of mine. I now hold my Rescue Diver certification, STCW, and have over ten years of sea
time. On a typical day you can find me up early to exercise and getting my mind right, before starting breakfast and food
prep for the day. I enjoy afternoon snorkeling, getting together with family and friends, playing cards, and anything
involving the outdoors. This life has allowed me to continue traveling and exploring the world we live in, and I hope to
share that and my food with all of you!

The key to a successful trip is the captain & chef, and we couldn’t have dreamed of a better couple to share this experience with.Nate was exceptional at charting our course, singing Bob Seger, making us laugh, and helping in the kitchen. Hilary is an extraordinary cook – breakfast, lunch, happy hour, and dinner were all chef’s kiss!
We chose “Touch the Sky” for 8 crazy nights because of the size of the vessel & our tribe, but we hit the lottery with Nate & Hilary. They are the best part about our trip! They have an open invitation to visit us in New Hampshire!

We loved Hilary and Nate. They were an incredible crew—so warm, friendly, fun, funny, and helpful. Hilary's cooking was delicious.We also enjoyed all of the great spaces to spread out on Touch the Sky. It never felt crowded and always felt like a party. I particularly enjoyed having a cabin up on deck on this boat.
The crew was professional, accessible, and accommodating—100% amazing! Nate made adjustments for the weather, and we still got to see every location. They were also so on top of things when we dealt with a friend falling and breaking her arm; they were excellent in a crisis moment.

Yacht was older but in extremely good condition. The spaces on the boat were amazing. We enjoyed upper deck immensely. The food was outstanding - very much gourmet. Crew was on the spot. Plenty of activities on boat. Crew was amazing. Very professional and accommodating. They knew our every need. It was like we were family - could not asked for a better crew. Captain and First Mate did excellent job giving details and recommendations. We had a medical issue and they went out of their was to adjust and accommodate us. Captain definitely knew the area and had great knowledge of the islands. Exceeded our expectations. Amazing crew - they thought of everything.Michael

Our group truly loved experiencing the baths and caves on Virgin Gorda. But the Touch the Sky crew took us to the most beautiful beaches & islands to moor. We all especially loved snorkeling at Christmas Cove. Everything was above and beyond our expectations. Absolutely flawless. The food was excellent and always beautifully presented. I'm speechless and after a week on board, you know that's a big thing ; your hospitality, cooking, entertainment I'll never forget this everytime its Wed, it will get me through the week! have FAR EXCEEDED our expectations! My wife Jennifer and I have been coming down to the BVI for over 20 years now. We have chartered both with a captain as well as doing bare boat excursions. I can honestly say that our week on Touch The Sky has been one of the most rewarding vacations we have ever done. Captain Richard and Chef Suzanne were more than we could have imagined. The skillset for both of them was obvious from the very beginning. However, the way they embraced our family and the way they took care of us was more than special. It was genuine.We were a three generation group, which I imagine could be a daunting assignment, when you are in relatively close quarters. Our grandkids are 9, almost 7, and 5 years of age. Jennifer and I wanted our kids and grandkids to experience as much of the BVI experience as possible in a week. We succeeded because of Captain Richard and Suzanne. Norman Island, Cooper Island, Virgin Gorda, Jost Van Dyke were all destinations that we were able to enjoy. The grandkids acclimated themselves quickly to the sailing lifestyle and that was all due to Captain Richard and Suzanne.
I cannot say enough about Chef Suzanne and her culianry expertise. We were so pampered from morning fruit plates on the fly bridge followed by an amazing breakfast. Lunches were always a treat but the best always was the dinners she served us in the evenings on the back of Touch The Sky. The flavors and presentation of each meal rivaled ANY meal you might get on shore. Her salmon dinner as well as the family recipe she shared one night for pasta was amazing. I am still blown away by the quality of each meal coming out of that galley kitchen. Needless to say, coming home after a week eating Chef Suzanne’s meals was a real jolt of reality. Coffee on the fly bridge in the early morning is still the best.
Finally, I cannot say enough about Captain Richard. With him at the helm you are going to be in safe hands. His quiet confidence and calm demeanor was infectious. I think what was really special is the way he (and Suzanne) brought our grandkids into their world. With his assistance, each took turns at the wheel. He showed infinite patience in answering their questions. Each night while Suzanne and Richard were plating dinner, they let our 5 year old granddaughter run food to the table. It sounds like an insignificant thing but I assure you it was magical.
Finally, thank you Paradise Yacht Management for matching us up with Captain Richard and Chef Suzanne. Touch The Sky was our home for the week. We came away feeling sad having to leave it and the wonderful people who crewed it. Let it rock!

Touch The Sky and the crew Captain Richard and Chef Suzanne facilitated one of the most memorable family vacations that our family has ever experienced. There is not enough space on this site to detail the magic that unfolded on our adventure. Touch The Sky was safe, comfortable and allowed us to explore the BVI with total confidence. Again, can't say NEARLY enough about Captain Richard and Chef Suzanne. They embraced our three generation group and made us feel totally at ease. We went into the week being flexible and knowing the weather conditions would determine a lot of what we did. We crammed a LOT of bucket list moments.March 2023
We are back from sailing the BVI and WOW!! what an amazing time had. Thank you for all your help getting our trip set up. We had a couple in our group that has sailed 3-4 times before and they said this was the BEST. I think that was because we were there with them but really we had the BEST Boat, and the BEST BEST crew. Suzanne and Richard are a 10+ in our book.November 2022
