A continuación, navega por el canal de Sir Francis Drake hasta George Dog, una de las islas idílicas del archipiélago de los Dogs. Aquí puedes pasar la mañana haciendo snorkel en arrecifes llenos de vida, tomando el sol en cubierta o simplemente flotando en el agua cristalina. Es la forma perfecta de relajarte antes de disfrutar de un delicioso almuerzo de vuelta a bordo.

Por la tarde, pondremos rumbo a Long Bay, uno de mis fondeaderos favoritos de las Islas Vírgenes Británicas. Este paraíso apartado ofrece aún más oportunidades para nadar, relajarte y disfrutar de las impresionantes aguas turquesa. Para los más aventureros, tu tripulación puede llevarte hasta el cercano Mountain Point, donde un emocionante túnel submarino conduce a una piscina natural escondida: una experiencia realmente única. Al caer el día, disfruta de cócteles y de otra espectacular puesta de sol sobre el mar abierto hacia el oeste.

Empieza el día en Mountain Point, donde hay una caminata panorámica para quienes buscan aventura y vistas impresionantes. Tras una mañana relajada, navegaremos rumbo al norte hasta el célebre North Sound, considerado uno de los puertos naturales más bonitos del Caribe. Para los buceadores del grupo, una inmersión de encuentro por la mañana con Sunchaser Scuba ofrece una aventura submarina inolvidable.

Navega hasta la icónica Jost Van Dyke, una isla rica en historia y rodeada de una belleza natural impresionante. Nada hasta la orilla o deja que tu tripulación te lleve en la lancha auxiliar, y saborea la creación insignia del bar, el Painkiller. Explora otros bares de playa cercanos o echa un vistazo a la boutique del Soggy Dollar en busca de recuerdos únicos.

Tras el almuerzo a bordo de tu yate —o en tierra si lo prefieres— pondremos rumbo a Tortola, pasando junto a las pintorescas costas de la cercana St. John. Tu siguiente destino es el tranquilo Little Harbour de Peter Island, donde tu yate quedará asegurado con un amarre de popa a apenas unos metros de la orilla. Pasa el resto del día flotando, nadando y desconectando en este entorno apacible. Termina la velada con cócteles, una deliciosa cena y una impresionante puesta de sol sobre las aguas turquesa.

Tu último día en las Islas Vírgenes Británicas empieza con una breve navegación a motor hasta The Indians, un llamativo grupo de islotes rocosos famosos por su increíble snorkel. Lánzate al agua y explora el vibrante ecosistema marino, donde bancos de peces tropicales se deslizan entre las rocas y las coloridas formaciones de coral. Tu tripulación navegará de regreso a la marina a tiempo para una salida al mediodía, momento de las despedidas. Al desembarcar, tendrás listo tu traslado al aeropuerto, a la terminal de ferry o directamente a un taxi acuático que te espera. Te irás con el corazón lleno de recuerdos y soñando con volver a este paraíso caribeño.

El embarque es al mediodía, así que el primer día es deliberadamente tranquilo. Subirás a bordo entre bebidas y una cálida bienvenida de tu tripulación, repasarás la sesión de seguridad, guardarás el equipaje y estarás fuera del muelle a la media: nada de travesías largas el primer día, solo una navegación corta y panorámica hasta Long Bay, en Virgin Gorda, mientras le tomas el pulso al barco.

Long Bay es un fondeadero tranquilo y protegido: agua turquesa, un bonito tramo de arena y espacio para nadar, flotar y no hacer nada en particular. Esta tarde no hay más plan que ponerse cómodo: saca las tablas de paddle, échate una siesta en cubierta o tómate tu primer cóctel mientras la luz se suaviza sobre el agua.

Cuando baja el sol, tu chef privado sirve a bordo la primera cena de la semana, con una vista abierta al oeste a través del canal.

Sal a media mañana para una parada de almuerzo en los Dogs, un grupo de pequeñas islas entre Tortola y Virgin Gorda con uno de los snorkels más limpios de las Islas Vírgenes Británicas. Fondea frente a George Dog, nada por el arrecife y almuerza a bordo antes del corto salto hasta el North Sound.

El North Sound es uno de los grandes puertos naturales del Caribe: una cuenca amplia y protegida rodeada por Saba Rock, el Bitter End, Leverick Bay y Prickly Pear Island. Tu tripulación te acomodará para la noche a un paso de todo ello. Acércate en la lancha auxiliar hasta el Bitter End para pasear y hacer algunas compras, o calcula las copas al atardecer en Saba Rock para la alimentación nocturna de sábalos, cuando los grandes peces hacen hervir el agua bajo las luces del muelle.

Vale la pena acomodarse aquí, porque mañana es el día en que dejas las islas atrás y pones la proa hacia mar abierto.

Este es el día que distingue a este itinerario. Zarpa del North Sound hacia las ocho de la mañana y navega cruzando la travesía de Anegada, el único tramo de mar abierto de un viaje en yate por las Islas Vírgenes Británicas. Anegada es coral y arrecife llanos en lugar de los picos volcánicos que dejas atrás, así que se mantiene bajo el horizonte como una fina lengua de tierra que poco a poco crece por delante, y tu tripulación cogerá una boya de amarre frente a Setting Point hacia las diez o diez y media. Las líneas van fuera durante la travesía; la singladura da dorado y atún con suficiente frecuencia como para planear la cena en torno a ello.

En tierra, la isla se abre: salvaje, tranquila y extendida de un modo que ninguna otra isla de las Islas Vírgenes Británicas lo está. Alquila un moke, un jeep o una camioneta en Setting Point, sin necesidad de mapa, y sal hasta la costa norte. Flash of Beauty tiene uno de los mejores snorkels desde la playa de las Islas Vírgenes Británicas y un roti de Monica's; Cow Wreck Beach es una laguna turquesa luminosa y arena fina que es una de las más bonitas de las islas, con bebidas frías de ron en el TIPSY by Ann, justo en la arena. Loblolly Bay y el Big Bamboo están cerca, y el mirador de Flamingo Pond bien merece el breve desvío por la bandada rosa que trabaja las lagunas de sal.

Para buceadores y aficionados serios al snorkel, Horseshoe Reef —el cuarto arrecife de barrera más grande del mundo— recorre toda la isla, con la surrealista arena blanca de Conch Island y nítidos pasillos entre el coral. Si la lancha es lo bastante grande, tu tripulación te llevará; si no, un guía local como Kelly conoce cada deriva del arrecife.

La cena es aquello por lo que la gente viene a Anegada: langosta fresca a la parrilla en la playa de Setting Point —Potter's, el Wonky Dog, el Lobster Trap y el Anegada Reef Hotel la preparan de maravilla—, mesas iluminadas con farolillos y los pies en la arena. Tu tripulación hace el pedido cuando llegáis para que esté lista al ponerse el sol.

Hoy es la mejor navegación de la semana: la larga singladura en popa desde Anegada por la parte alta de la cadena de islas hasta Jost Van Dyke. Con el viento alisio por la popa es un largo cómodo y rápido; acomódate en cubierta, mantén las líneas de pesca fuera y deja que las millas pasen mientras tu tripulación maneja el barco.

Por la tarde estarás fondeado en las aguas tranquilas alrededor de Little Jost Van Dyke y Sandy Spit, un diminuto islote de arena blanca que parece colocado ahí para las fotos. Nada hasta la orilla, recorre el islote y haz snorkel por el arrecife que lo rodea. Para los más activos, está la caminata desde Foxy's Taboo hasta el Bubbly Pool, un jacuzzi natural alimentado por el mar que sube y baja con el oleaje.

Es un fondeadero tranquilo y pintoresco, y un cambio de ritmo deliberado tras Anegada: una tarde pausada y una cena tranquila a bordo antes de la mañana de bares de playa que está por venir.

Arranca temprano hacia White Bay, Jost Van Dyke, mientras aún está tranquilo: tu tripulación te dejará fondeado frente a la playa antes de que lleguen los excursionistas del día. Según el barco, las condiciones adecuadas hasta podrían permitirte meterte dentro del arrecife para la vista de postal. Nada hasta la orilla a por un Painkiller en el Soggy Dollar Bar, donde se inventó la bebida, y recorre el corto tramo de bares de playa sobre la arena.

Tras el almuerzo, pon rumbo al sur y cruza a Norman Island, pasando por las pintorescas costas de St. John por el camino. Tu tripulación te acomodará en The Bight, el gran campo de boyas protegido de la isla, para la noche. Hay snorkel en las cuevas (The Caves) ahí mismo si quieres un baño más antes de la puesta de sol.

Cuando baja el sol, la noche es de Willy T, el legendario bar flotante fondeado justo ahí, en The Bight. Acércate en la lancha a por unas copas y los obligatorios saltos desde la cubierta superior, y luego vuelve a bordo para una cena tardía con las luces del puerto a tu alrededor.

Deja The Bight por la mañana y baja hasta The Indians, un grupo de pináculos rocosos a un corto salto con uno de los snorkels más ricos de las Islas Vírgenes Británicas. Bancos de peces, gorgonias y coral en aguas claras y tranquilas; es el mejor baño de la semana para muchos grupos.

Desde allí es una corta navegación al norte hasta Peter Island, donde tu tripulación te acomodará en la calma de Little Harbour con un cabo de popa a tierra, a apenas unos metros de las rocas. La tarde es para bajar el ritmo: flota, haz paddle, báñate desde la popa del barco y deja que el ritmo caiga antes del último día.

Cena a bordo, un fondeadero tranquilo y aún queda un fondeadero más por venir: la mejor playa, guardada para el final.

La semana termina con su gran plato. Navega de vuelta al este hasta el extremo sur de Virgin Gorda y fondea frente a Valley Trunk Bay: en las condiciones estables de invierno para las que está pensado este viaje, los yates con tripulación más grandes pondrán un cabo de popa y se meterán justo bajo los bloques. Es lo más cerca que puedes amarrar de The Baths, y una de las playas más espectaculares de las islas por sí sola.

Baja a tierra temprano para explorar The Baths antes de que llegue nadie: un laberinto de bloques de granito del tamaño de una casa, grutas, piscinas de marea y el famoso sendero de las cuevas que serpentea entre ellos hasta Devil's Bay. Es la maravilla natural por la que se conocen las Islas Vírgenes Británicas, y llegar en lancha desde tu propio fondeadero significa verla en silencio.

Pasa la tarde de vuelta a bordo, bañándote desde los bloques y disfrutando de lo que queda. Tu tripulación sirve una última cena al ancla, con la mejor playa de la semana guardada para la última noche.

Tu última mañana es perezosa: un desayuno sin prisas al ancla, un último baño si da tiempo y una mirada más al agua antes de irte.
