'Quest' is a Sailing Catamaran, accommodating up to 6 guests, available for crewed charter.

Quest is a custom-built 1991 Alex Simonis catamaran, refit in 2022, that is equally at home voyaging through open ocean swell or being an adventure platform in a secluded bay. She is a drop-dead gorgeous boat that turns heads wherever she goes.

Her airy interior is inviting, with plenty of light to compliment the grain of the well-appointed wood. Her staterooms exhibit all the comforts of home, with plush bedding and cozy nooks that make it hard to get up in the morning. With ample seating around tables in the salon and cockpit, Quest is the perfect place to relax, socialize, or party. There is even space for yoga or launching a kite.

Sailing remarkably well, Quest dances through the waves. She is a joy to sail, and brings smiles to the faces of even the most experienced sailors. She is also incredibly safe, making her the perfect boat for families and first-time sailors alike.

Quest runs with a single captain, Aaron Lathrop, operating out of New England (Block Island/Newport, RI) in summer and the Caribbean Virgin, Leeward, and Windward Islands in winter.

Our take: Quest

Quest is an unusual listing for a crewed charter cat: a 1991 Alex Simonis-designed custom cruising catamaran, freshly refit in 2022, run by a single captain rather than a full crew. That makes her a different kind of charter — more intimate, more personal, and priced accordingly at $14,995/week plus expenses for 6 guests in 3 ensuite queen cabins. She's also one of the few boats on our board that actually migrates with the seasons the old-fashioned way: Block Island and New England in summer, the Virgin/Leeward/Windward Islands come winter. Worth a look for sailors who want a genuinely salty, well-traveled boat and don't need a big crew to have a great week — Starlink and an eco-conscious onboard ethos (reef clean-ups, no single-use plastics) are nice modern touches on an old-school hull.
