Sandy Cinco, a beautiful Ipanema 58 by Fountaine Pajot, is brand-new to chartering in the BVI after re-fitting from private ownership in 2023.
With her spacious cockpit, 360° view, flybridge, elegant, saloon, comfy fore deck, luxurious cabins and luxury finishing touches, Sandy Cinco provides plenty of opportunities to be together as a group or find a private space to truly unwind and Mike and Lizzy are delighted to have the opportunity to welcome guests aboard to experience luxury living and spectacular sailing in the BVI.

Mike and Lizzy can’t wait to share their love and knowledge of the Caribbean and all it has to offer! Their excitement is contagious. They met racing yachts in their home waters over 10 years ago. After cruising around the Mediterranean; Greece, Croatia, France and the Amalfi coast they turned their love of sailing into a full-time career: moving to the British Virgin Islands to run crewed yacht charters in 2014.
With 100+ charters to their names, Mike and Lizzy have taken their guests sailing not only in the Virgin Islands, but also other amazing locations including St Martin-St Barths-Anguilla, Antigua-St Kitts & Nevis, Martinique-St Lucia and the unforgettable St Vincent and the Grenadines-Grenada.
Mike and Lizzy pride themselves on making guests feel safe, welcomed and pampered with their friendly, warm, professional approach and an eye for detail, leaving you with nothing to do except focus on the beauty of your surroundings and enjoy your holiday of a lifetime!
Mike loves the ocean and has been sailing all his life. His passion has gained him a list of maritime credentials and a wealth of knowledge on sailing and motor yachts. He likes to pass on his enthusiasm to everyone on board, encouraging and teaching others more about sailing. A great sense of humour combined with an open and relaxed manner, not to mention his skills behind the bar, ensures Mike gets all guests to enjoy every moment aboard.
Lizzy grew up cooking with fresh local produce in her family farm kitchen before her adventurous spirit took her to university, where she learnt to sail, and then around the world by land and sea! Her experiences influence her cooking and expand her repertoire. She added some finishing touches at the prestigious Ashburton Chefs Academy in the U.K., and now delights in 2 of her passions - serving up beautiful tasty food she knows her guests will adore and sailing!

Dear Mike and Lizzy. We have had THE BEST honeymoon! This trip has been out of this world. The snorkelling. The Baths. The sailing. The beaches. The bars. It has literally been paradise; we have loved every second. You have been so generous and looked after us so well. Your food, drink and hospitality are second to none! •How did you find your crew? Were they friendly, knowledgeable, attentive and accommodating?° Mike and Lizzy were welcoming and knowledgeable about the islands and history. They made it clear up front if we needed anything or had questions to just ask.
•Was the yacht comfortable, clean and well ventilated? What was your favorite aspect of the yacht?
° The yacht exceeded our expectations. The additional covered space on the top deck was great! It allowed everyone to spread out and added a lot of space to relax.
•Was the food enjoyable and well presented? Did the chef customize the menu to your preferences?
° Lizzy was an amazing chef! She made sure that individual dietary needs were addressed and carefully distributed the dishes so everyone got what they requested.
•Did you enjoy the itinerary and the area you sailed?
° We didn’t have any real plans which put an extra burden on Mike. He had a clear plan each day and it worked for us

We had the absolute best week with Mike and Lizzie on the Sandy Cinco.
We met via a zoom call a couple of weeks prior to our trip and knew immediately we were going to enjoy vacationing with them. They wanted to get to know each of us personally.
They are both very organized and take such pride in making sure the Sandy Cinco is in top condition. We immediately felt right at home. The boat is absolutely beautiful and we loved the personal touches like our color coded drink bottles, towels, and snorkel equipment.
Every meal Lizzie prepared for us looked amazing and tasted even better. It was so nice not to ever think about a meal, but they just appeared and we enjoyed them with our family on the back of this beautiful boat.
Mike made sure our days were filled with a variety of things from sailing, to exploring, to snorkeling, to bar hoping or just relaxing! Everyday was different and so much fun. They both went over and above to make sure all 6 of us were happy at all times. We did a lot, but felt like we had lots of time to just relax as well. Perfect combination for our family!
This will be a week that we will never forget and will treasure forever!

This was our second voyage with Mike and Lizzy, and it was even better than our first one, which didn't seem possible because the first was perfect. Mike and Lizzy are impeccable hosts. They seem to know every inch of the BVI, and that knowledge translates to wonderful days, day after day, in new spots and familiar spots. Mike is a superb sailor and guide, as well as an excellent bartender. Lizzy is an absolutely amazing chef. There cannot be a better team in the Caribbean or for that matter anywhere else! There are no words to describe our experience we had on the Sandy Cinco. Captain Mike and Chef Lizzy are such amazing souls and we connected immediately. The memories we made from sailing, snorkelling, eating gourmet meals and everything in between was nothing short of a blessing. Lizzy was/is warm, friendly and very hospitable. Her selection of meals and cooking were outstanding (we knew this from our last charter). She especially went out of her way with Brandon as he got interested in helping with the anchors and lines. She also was great at trying to satisfy the boys (Tyler – 7 and Brandon – 5) with food that they would eat. Tyler is very difficult and Lizzy always kept a smile on. Lizzy is a very pleasant person to be around and always trying to please.Mike is a confident, competent and professional captain – just what you want on a charter. His take charge personality was especially evident when my son-in-law got injured and Mike made sure he got the care he needed. Mike was always checking to be sure we were doing/going where we wanted to go. If a change was necessary, Mike would discuss and offer options as well as his opinion. As a former, many time bare boat charterer, having Mike take care of everything made the trip so much more enjoyable. I will admit that Mike can be a little grumpy in the morning before he has had his coffee but I suspect I am as well. Despite, sometimes being stern with the boys (when required), Mike was wonderful a couple of times getting Tyler out of a funk and getting him to enjoy himself (as stated earlier – Tyler can be a challenge).
They both became part of the family but were never intrusive and made the trip most enjoyable.
BVI 2nd – 9th March 2024 “Such wonderful memories from this week”
Thank you for the most wonderful week of Spring Break. This was the third trip with Mike and Lizzy and the most memorable yet! The slide show at the Bills Bar ‘Tipsy’ on Anegada will live on forever! I’ll miss you desperately!! CCEasily one of my favourite birthdays ever 😊 My most memorable snorkel (aeroplane) and most memorable pirate show (oh boy!) I absolutely cannot wait to come back & I’ll be sure to bring a friend! AG
Mike and Lizzy once again have outdone themselves! One of my favourite things was snorkelling through a cave. Not too far behind that is tubing and just chilling. Once again, Mike and Lizzy have made our trip awesome. AG

A once in a lifetime trip! Everything about the trip was amazing! The food was spectacular: every single meal was new and so delicious. I ate too much because I couldn't stop eating the food Lizzy prepared. Mike did a spot-on job of keeping us away from crowds, finding the best snorkeling spots and setting us up for stunning sunsets. We were welcomed aboard by the happy, smiling faces of Captain Mike and Chef Lizzy – just their normal, everyday nature! It’s glorious!
